I noticed a few weeks ago that this day was coming up but kind of forgot about it til I got a notification recently. 10 years, wow.
Not really prepared to say much and quite exhausted lately so think I'll save that for another day.
Instead I'll just continue on reporting what I've been working on.
Web player on scrobble.life
There's a new web player now for the website, the thing to note is that it only really works on one page (not the main one), and it's mainly there for songs where you don't want to load/watch the youtube video alongside it, which currently is quite limited. If, however, you listen through songs that stem from Audius, you are able to listen to them through the player without loading the video.
Music Search
Similar here, you can only search for songs on the Audius library. This means that we now have our first music search that isn't restricted to only what's been scrobbled. Although Audius library is still limited, with these two options it opens up a bigger database for us to search through now and naturally the more people scrobble the bigger the database becomes which is all public on hive (except for anon scrobbles).
Playlists
We've added playlists now! There's a few automatic ones that'll be available to everyone: your most played, recently played and this month. Then you're able to create own custom playlists and add songs to them through the player and from most lists, they'll add a + sign if you mouse over the rank lists and ask you in which playlist you wanna add them.

Some things to keep in mind
The web player will most of the time not show up in /music, only when songs are playing that have been scrobbled from audius and /player from audius searches. The player however automatically plays when you're on the /player page, even for youtube scrobbles.
You need to create a custom playlist to be able to add songs to one.
A lot of changes at once so there may be some bugs here and there, let me know if you see any.
Only 23 unique scrobblers so far!
Don't be shy people, install the chrome extension and test it out: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hive-scrobbler/nmiakhpbilkpimeohngjbjickchkcpio
Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/hive-scrobbler/
It utilizes keychain and keychain's sdk and only requires your posting key so it should be relatively safe!
Didn't think I'd be this active on github a few months ago before I started learning how to properly use Claude.

Thanks to the people who pushed me to get going with it.
Anyway, maybe I should get drunk today to celebrate 10 years on this chain, cheers.
I think a few people will be marking ten years in the next few months, including me. It's been quite a journey, but Hive is something special.
10 years on Hive 😲!
You made a lot of projects during this time. That contribution will always be memorable in here.
Congratulations bro 🎉
Wow, one decade of Hive love? That's so cutie and truly awesome achievement. Congrats! I wish I stay longer, too, because tbh, it's here that I feel free to express my emotions and opinions. I'm on my 7th month, fighting! 🙏
Happy 10th anniversary on the chain. 10 years is really a huge milestone, congratulations! Also, the new updates on scrobble.life look awesome. The web player and custom playlists are great additions for the music lovers here on Hive. Thanks for always building cool things for the community. Cheers❤️❤️
Happy Diamond Anniversary! 💎 It’s a lovely year to celebrate, especially for a space you’ve worked so hard on and care about. Enjoy your day! 🤗
go for a walk, much better for you 😍
Congratulations, 10 years is great! Appreciate your contributions ❤️
Congratulations on your 10th anniversary on Hive. It really calls for celebration. And thumbs up to all the great works you're doing for the chain.
How time flies, Happy 10th anniversary.
Happy 10 years cheers!
Congratulations to 10 years on chain 😀 have a great day
thanks, likewise!
Interesting project! I came across it unexpectedly today while browsing my feed. Could you send me the link to the introduction post so I can better understand all the features and the project's proposal?
I’ve been exploring it and I really liked what I saw. I enjoy cataloging my movie history, but I migrated from Trakt.tv to Simkl, and I noticed the site already has an option to import from Trakt.tv. Would it be possible to add support for Simkl as well?
Sure, I'll look into it!
Here's the introduction post: https://peakd.com/scrobble/@acidyo/introducing-scrobblelife-your-entertainment-history-lives-on-hive-now
Our movie/tvshow/anime search is quite limited atm (only wikipedia), hopefully we can broaden that in the near future as API costs for an upgrade were a bit too costly for our small userbase and non-profit stance.
I understand the limitations and costs. I read the introduction post and thought it was amazing. Good luck with the project, congratulations on your 10 years on Hive, and thanks for the link.
By the way, over the last few months I’ve been away from Hive. I had stepped away before and stopped posting for a while, but this time I was completely disconnected — I wasn’t even reading posts. Honestly, I feel like I missed a lot by being away. It seems like Hive is evolving into something new, and the internet itself is becoming something new as well. These new AI technologies have been changing a lot of things, and that’s actually one of the reasons I’ve been distant lately — I’ve been spending time studying and learning about them.
I saw something about Hive AI on Twitter, and it made me feel like I need to come back to Hive as soon as possible, even if it’s not necessarily to post, but at least to read and follow what’s being built. At first, I thought this whole vibe coding and AI-assisted coding trend could be a bad thing, but I was completely wrong.
I’m not saying your project is one of those, and I don’t want you to take this the wrong way (some people get offended by that). What I mean is that I feel like many new projects are starting to appear on Hive, and the trend seems to be growing. I want to try all of them, but I honestly don’t know where to find them.
I used to use HiveProjects.io, created by the developer em português of Engrave, to keep track of new projects, but I think it has been abandoned. Is there currently a place where all these projects are being cataloged?
And sorry if anything sounded out of context — I used AI to help correct and translate my message since English isn’t my native language.
maybe this is more up to date, but I don't think @engrave's abandoned the other one, just maybe a bit lazy with adding new things lately.

welcome back!
Happy Hiveversary! 🥳🥳🥳🎆🎆🚀
Happy 10th Hive-Versary;
✨ 🍀 🌴 🌹
The new web player and playlists seem to be exciting features that will enhance the user experience.
keep going up
wow.. a decade. pretty amazing..
u are like musk in that he achieved becoming the richest man and was like, huh.. then was back to work straight away.. :P
Hi, I can't install it; my PC is old. Maybe that's why. I can only use the site to review movies, and when I try to install it using the link you posted, I get that error. I hid part of the code because it contained numbers, and I don't know if that's a problem.
AHHH Congratulations on your 10 years on Hive, I wish you many more years to come.
I think I will join the scrobblers life, but can you explain me why I would need that additional extension? I am using Hive Keychain and was hoping not to use any other "widgets"... thanks!
