Swimming with Sea Turtles part 4

in #sea-turtles6 years ago

It's amazing swimming with these creatures of the sea. I could spend hours with them and watching them. They always seem so calm without a worry to be found. I have found that most will hang around together as a family pack and have even seen little ones touching Mom's as they swim by as if a sign of love to each other. Most have their little special space to hang around and some will venture away only to return to the family pack. Though there are some who live alone without other turtles around as if it was a private sanctuary. There are some whom have been wounded perhaps from boats or even sharks but still seem to manage pretty well these also tend to be by themselves.
I found that swimming with these amazing animals is my most favorite time spent in the ocean. They never seem to be aggressive but some do not like being followed and will lead you out to the deep ocean if your not careful. They seem to recognize me after awhile after continuous visits and get a bit calmer as I approach and the best times to visit is early morning before swimmers enter the water and make noises that will make them hide and also go out further to sea. I love following them when they are searching for tasty delights for their morning meal. Some will lodge themselves under a rock or large coral just so they can stay put while ocean currents are moving past them. It's amazing out there as they let me follow them around while pretending to be one of them. Each Sea Turtle is different by patterns, shape of it's shell, color and personality.
So if you ever get a chance to visit turtles under the sea, be calm, be as quiet as can be, and let them do what they want to do and do not touch ever or feed them. They have been around for a long time and we could never comprehend all they been through over the years and they survived through all of it.
This video is part of my own personal collection during my visits with Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles and filmed in the oceans from the beaches of Waialua, North shore of Oahu Hawaii.
