This Week the of the #seaphotography contest theme is:
"SEA and BOATS !!!"
My entry is a shot that I took from an observation deck up on a mountain, on the island St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. This island is one of the largest cruise port in the Caribbean, if not the largest.
In this shot we see only two cruise ships and a couple of little boats and yachts.
During high season, up to 5-6 ships can dock in this downtown harbor.
Imagine? A cruise ship has 2000 - 4000 passengers... let’s say 2000... times 5 ships... that is 10,000 people that will get off the ship, because everyone wants to walk a little on solid ground.
They all get off the ships in the same time... Soooo... there is a river of people flowing on the downtown streets... 🌊🌊🌊🌊 ... looking for souvenirs... and every local is selling something!!!!
Fascinating. I lived there for a few years. I loved it!
