Guarda Wallet team reminds of security basics

in #security5 years ago

Greetings, Guarda wallet users. Our team wanted to warn you about an issue everyone can stumble upon when dealing with cryptocurrencies. As our popularity as secure custody-free crypto storage grows, the number of attempts impersonating Guarda or our team members doubles, too.

People can use many different ways to try to take hold of your funds. We, of course, are fighting with all such attempts and the moment we notice such things happening or getting a warning from you. However, following these simple security rules will help you in keeping your funds secure.

So, here are a few tips to help you not get caught in a trap:

  1. Guarda team will never ask you for your private keys — we don’t use them. Our wallets are non-custodial. So, in case you receive such a message from someone pretending to be Guarda Wallet employee — do not trust it.
  2. Guarda team members are not there to ask you for any cryptocurrency deposits. If you receive such a message (it could be put in a form of “please pay for additional services” or something with a similar call to action) — block this user and never send your funds.
  3. When checking a domain, you must see “Guardarian OÜ” and “https” security in your browser address bar. Make sure you can check connection security. If you can’t, then it is a phishing website. The domain must be exactly: guarda.co, without any additions.

The original page always looks like this: WebSite1.jpg

  1. When surfing the web or Play Market, pay attention to the developer name. You must see “Guarda” in the App Store and “GuardarianOU” in the Play Market, not any other names. Just in case, we attach the links for our applications:

Guarda Wallet is a highly secure cryptocurrency storage. Being a custody-free service, we have our users fully in charge of their funds. The main point of using a non-custodial wallet is never sharing your private keys — please remember this basic rule when using Guarda Wallet.
Unfortunately, we cannot fully put the end to the existence of crypto scams, no matter how hard we try. Due to this, always remember the main rule of fund management — “Trust but verify”. Check the URL, the applications you are using and keep your coins and tokens safe with the =real= Guarda wallets.

Yours, Guarda Wallet team.
