For day-to-day usage, it's recommended to use Posting Key instead of your Master Password.

Awesome video @maneki-neko, steemit is gaining global awareness and because of the uniqueness of the platform, many scammers will also get on the platform to see how to penetrate the users and not only steal their details but to also cause instability among the members, if there is anytime to be more vigilant and careful. IT IS NOW!
Thanks for sharing Man!
Thanks for this information, it's good to be security conscious. it will caution steemians from assessing any link and keep their account safe from hackers. You are indeed a beacon of hope @maneki-neko...... Long live steemit.

Okay I will.
Thanks! For making me more than paranoid AF. Just joking, very good advise that I am taking into affect right now. Nice backdrop on the video. Still wishing I could have seen your Orientation video.....what is the etiquette on re-uploads? I think that one would qualify.
Reuploading content from other sites or reposting content that was here before? - both have mixed views as far as etiquette..
If you were to re-upload the orientation video from DTube back onto DTube so that it would play again for a while.

Be careful before opening any link most links are phishing for ur password. it has been ages now for this :p
Yes they have been around so long but I almost fell for it anyway :p
Boys usually fell for things that make them curious :v
this kind of tutorial needs to be given a thousand upvote, i love this
Heyhey I like this attitude!

The advice is fantastic man. Really important information for all Steemians to follow...But....I have a confession...
It was extremely hard to pay attention throughout because that instrumental you had playing in the background was....
Insane!
Did you make that? It's brilliant man...Love the beat. One of the better tracks I've heard in a minute!
Yeah thats my music - thanks for the compliment and hope it didnt distract too much!
Brilliant stuff....Uploaded anywhere or for purchase? Or dsound or soundcloud?
Great ideas. I'm getting a USB right away.
Yeah... Actually very legit tip! Gonna have to do this... You know that Kremlin also keeps their documents on paper. Got to learn from the best :D
Thanks for the inspiration for safety! :)
I did not know that!
What should you do if you think you have already been phished?
Change your password, or press on Stolen account recovery, I changed password and I was waiting 3 days
If you lose control of your account contact steem support immediately.
Yeah, good stuff. I use the USB option and have several copies in different locations. You could even put it on a SD card that you then put in a Camera or other device that requires memory and doesn't automatically overwrite data like some dash cams. Edit: sorry I can't vote right now, but it looks like I'm back and I'll make it up to you soon.
Glad you are not smushed to oblivion :)
Gosh, phishing, huh? That's pretty scary, and I guess to be expected. What would you say about using something like LastPass or 1Password? I do, but my master is altered in there along the lines of what you suggested.
I suppose its ok then? I dont trust the third party apps myself, but many do!
Wow... I guess a little paranoid is not a bad thing to be when you talk about wallets... hehehe
I already did the cold storage, but I keep my master password broken in 5 diferents files in my computer, on folders and names completly random. Now I´m thinking about swiching to linux also, to prevent more.
Always good to see you videos! I started waching Gintama but I think it would be funnier if i knew all the references...
Keep up the good work!
I'm always cautious about any links, esp. the ones that ask you to login afterwards, but it's so good that you reminded of this, as well as keeping the password in a private place.
A lot of people are loving Steemit and the positive atmosphere here, but you cannot deny that there will always be someone who will use social networks for malicious deeds.
Yeah the triple checking is quite demanding @maneki-neko. This is actually very important what you're talking about,,
USB, that's a great idea! Thank you so much for this video! I've been thinking about this issue so this info is much appreciated.
