Keybase now has encrypted messaging

in #security9 years ago (edited)

I've posted about Keybase before. It's a cool site using encryption to verify that you own various on-line accounts. You do this by posting a digital signature to each site to prove that you have control of it.

They have added some other features in the last year or so. One of those is cloud storage. Files there are also signed, so nobody else could have put them there. I use it for hosting images like the one below. You can also have encrypted folders that can only be accessed by you and people you nominate. You get 10GB, which is enough to share a lot of files.

There's an app for Linux, Windows and Apple that synchronises the files to a local folder. I just noticed that it has messaging as well now. I already have lots of ways to send messages, but this should be using good encryption.

Keybase

If you want an invitation to use Keybase then use the site to generate an encrypted message to me (steevc) with your email address.
