It is a good news. At least now, miners kept to their words and i hope this keeps going on. I also hope there won't be more complex problems over time. We should start looking forward to the bullish trend in bitcoin's value pretty soon.

I am not sure how I will explain that without complicating things for you the more but let me assume you were already aware of the whole chain split saga and news going on before.
Initially, SegWit2x and the UASF are not mutually exclusive which became obvious they may still cause a chain split. The proposal of BIP 91 was then designed to resolute this problem and make both SegWit2x and BIP148 compatible, hence preventing any split. If you need any more infornation, I am sure google may be of help. Cheers!
All you need to know is that it is a good thing. No split of BTC for now.
