Self-harm doesn't just mean harming your body or doing things with your body that cause you pain. This is an intentional wounding that ranges from mild to severe. It also includes the consequences of taking minor or serious risks that could potentially lead to serious physical harm (eg, unprotected sex that leads to STDs, speeding that leads to an arrest or car accident, hiking alone in dangerous places that, in ultimately leading to assault, harassment or rape). There are many ways you can harm and sabotage yourself as a trauma survivor. As suggested in , you may decide to do the following exercise to see exactly which self-destructive behaviors you use and which YOU use most often. You can then go back and ask yourself what this behavior says about you
