Authorship is now officially and completely dead. Gary Illyes from Google said authorship is not used at all at Google anymore.

Hey ash i have been paying attention to you a bit more lately and just wanted to say good job with your posts. you are always trying to give value to the platform. I wanted to let you know if you have blockchain based news (especially with interest to the human side and new innovations) I will gladly upvote your content if it remains high quality and will even post it to the bb group for potential upvoting by others (or you could even join the group and promote your own content!).
It is up for you and I just wanted to thank you. I know it is hard for people to earn money right now on steem so I am trying to figure out ways to build the next stack of whales to help make more granular curation possible.
My take away is that they have an algorithm that "fingerprints" authors based upon word choice.
