bitcoin and alt coin prices are not linked very well.
Right now it appears that money flows into bitcoin, then it flows out into other coins.
One of the bitcoins will make it to $1,000,000 a coin in a couple years. Everything else will lag behind.
There are several articles on why the pump in SBD. My favorite is that someone is using it to be cheaper steem. As it is actually pretty easy to move the SBD market.
