Social Shares and Links to your website are 2 totally different things for SEO. There is no straight coloration if your post gains more links it will proportionaly get the same amount of shares and vise versa. These are not connected, because they depend on the way for who you write your articles to, to which audience. Direct links from other websites have proven to be way more effective than having shares on social media in terms of SEO. Of course that both are beneficial in terms of getting traffic o your website.

Search your niche keywords on google and webpages that shows in the first google page results are YOUR linkcreators. If these websites had bad content and are not doing SEO right they would not be there. By searching for your link creators you want to find people that are in your niche but be aware of direct competitors. For instance you run eCom store, you don’t go and search for stores that sell exact same thing as you and those are not pages that you want for your linkcreators.
If you can not find direct webpages that are in your niche you want to broader your search to the shoulder niches. Shoulder niches are simply an area that is closely related to your main niche.
Find who links to them
The goal for this is to find potential linkcreators that you have not found in the first step. Because these are linked to your niche, it is perfect because you are in the same industry. How to find these? You can use tools such as Majestic SEO, Ahrefs or Moz and search for backlinks on these websites.
Find Best Lists
We need these in order to find huge influencers in our niche. So just search for Best Blogs for your niche on google. This is great trick as people already researched others and are giving you valuable information about which blogs are the best out there.
