ATTENTION - HIVE's SEO IS SHIT - Here Is What You Can Do About It! Prizes included :D

I was doing a bit of curating this morning and came upon a very interesting post by @runicar on the topic of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The post made quite a few good points.

Not only were problems presented, but suggestions for remedies. One of these was the issue of branding to which a comment got my attention.

I disagree, we should've had a name with the .com available. Nice to have hive.blog but seriously, any brand that wants to establish itself gets the .com domain and uses that. Β β€”@edje

@edje's comment to the post got me thinkingβ€”why do not search for a cool dot com DNS that does not cost too much, buy it and point it to HIVE.BLOG? Guess what? I did just that (I have always been of the mind set that it is easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission). So after paying about $30.00 USD I purchased the Domain Name...

...on behalf of the HIVE Community at large. I am still working on configuring it properly, but it works in a pinch. If anyone has a great deal of knowledge in configuring Domain Names, I would not be averse to assistance. It seems to be working okay, but something is going on with the SSL thingy when it points to HIVE.BLOG.

IN OTHER HONEY BADGER NEWS...

SPLINTERLANDS AND EXODE

Responded to @mister-meeseeks Non-fungible Token (NFT) post. Did you know that @splinterlands cards and @exodegame cards are NFTs? Pretty cool, huh? I was gifted a @steemmonsters Alpha Pack not too long ago by @kennethbosak for which I am very grateful. Like a dummy, I sold my Alpha cards a while back. I jumped the gun.

These are the cards that were in the Alpha Pack that Ken gifted me...

I am holding on to them this time! I also have one other Alpha Card which I never sold because I like him.

Did you know Ken also hosts tournaments on Splinterlands? If you like Splinterlands, his blog is worth a follow! Ken is also the founder of the Weekend Warriors Splinterlands Guild.

I have also participated in the presale of the @exodegame cards as well. I guess I won't be buying much liquor these days. My budget is tapped! That is probably good for all of us.

HONEY BADGER DANCE CONTEST TO PROMOTE @bro.poker

Fantastic entries. I was very impressed. All entrants to include the late entries received a prize. I am just paying it forward. Congratulations to @azharalam, @charliechain, @filmmakingmonk, and @shrazi. Good job!

That is all for now. Much thanks to everyone on HIVE. You all make each day a little brighter!

Blessings and Groovy Vibes to You and Yours!

Thank you very much! Wow!

Nice post and awesome information! Thanks for sharing!

You are welcome. You seem to be doing very well in your Splinterlands battles! That is great!

Your cards help a lot! Thanks :)
Don't you want to come back to our guild?

I am helping with another Guild right now, but thank you for the invite.

I see. Good luck! You are really a good guild member! :)

Those are valid points. I've got an SEO background, and I've been working on the ultimate SEO Guide for NaturalMedicine.io users, but have suffered some delays due to economic problems. However, I will eventually release an ultimate guide to SEO posting on Hive. I think the biggest problem will be that there are no fast and easy Yoast-style plugins available within our blockchain editors. Also, taking the extra time to seo-ify blockchain posts doesn't increase payouts, so this is a bit of a deterrent to content creators.

On my wordpress website, I make great efforts to seo-ify the hell out of my posts, because the posts can collect income indefinitely, and the google search results climb to page 1 is a long one. This blockchain has always been the place where I come to let my hair down and post without worry of SEO, something that takes part of the joy out of Wordpress posting.

I know a little about marketing having worked in that field for a short time. I ran a one-man marketing department to support the company's sales force. This was during the mid-'90s, so the internet was still fairly new.

I do still have some tricks up my sleeve. Then again my marketing methods were considered unorthodox, but my commissions showed they were effective.

Nice post! Good to see you @sgt-dan !!
