Sex and Marijuana

in #sex5 years ago

As much as it is difficult for many people to talk about their sexual desires, even with their lovers, having good sex is not only fun but also a key to happiness and good health, according to science. In a bid to finding a way to have great sex, many smokers have claimed that weed helps to enhance sex performance. But how accurate are these claims? Let’s find out as we discuss sex and marijuana!

Sex is Normal

Sex is a natural activity. When you’re sexually healthy, you will enjoy good health, happy and satisfying relationships and sex life, as well as peace of mind. In fact, science has proven that without sex, our bodies may release less oxytocin and endorphin hormones, which help us to deal with anxiety and stress, meaning it might become difficult for us to handle stress.

Cannabis Before Sex

While great sex is good for the body, some people battle with psychological and health problems such as depression and erectile dysfunctions, which hinder them from enjoying a good sexual life. Although sexual experiences are different for men and women on certain degrees, continuous bedroom problems can cause nightmares for both genders. So in an attempt to improve the overall quality of sex, many legalized adults turn to cannabis for help.

Most of the self-made studies about the relationship between sex and marijuana were focused on men’s experience as they are more likely to suffer from poor performance in bed. A study was conducted in 1979 on a group of eighty-four graduate students (with 75% being male) to determine the impact of cannabis on sexual enjoyment based on personal experience. The students were categorized into three groups: experienced smokers, non‐experienced smokers, and non-smokers.

Although the results were inconclusive, most participants in each group affirmed that consuming marijuana before sex enhances sexual pleasures. Additionally, those grouped as “experienced smokers” agreed that cannabis also helps to increase libido and improve orgasms.

A 2010 self-reported survey conducted in Australia revealed that men suffering from premature ejaculation experienced delayed orgasms when they use marijuana before engaging in sexual activities.

Women also benefit from smoking cannabis before sex. This claim is based on a study conducted by Becky Kaufman Lynn, a gynaecologist at St. Louis, MO. According to Lynn’s report, most of the women who said they combined sex and marijuana revealed that their libido, orgasms, and overall sexual experience improved, albeit no change in lubrication.

Some people might even perform better and like it better sober. When taking a marijuana tolerance break, make sure to compare the differences between sober sex and high sex.

Don't Do Edibles

While you may be tempted to consume edible marijuana before sex, mainly because it tastes good and helps you get really high, keep in mind that it is not the best way route to follow. “Why?” you might ask. Well, edibles take a little longer to digest, and since it is quite difficult to ascertain the amount of THC that goes into your body, you might end up consuming excess edibles. And when the effects start kicking in, you may not be able to achieve the purpose of taking them in the first place.
