Share Our World: Indian Sands Hike, Oregon Coast

in #shareourworld3 years ago (edited)

Day 16 of the road trip. We are now with our family in Oregon staying in a great house on the Pacific ocean.

My sister-in-law Jodi said she wanted to take us on a really cool hike, one of her favorites. Wow was it stunning! What a cool hike. I want to do it again.

Indian Sands Hike
This hike gets a 10/10

Sara's RatingPart of hikeMy thoughts
2Access to trailRight off the 101 Highway. Great parking close to trail head.
1Difficulty1.1 miles in a loop. [1] The loop isn't well marked, people would need a map.
2ViewsStunning views of the ocean and awesome hiking through the trees.
2DestinationMultiple places to stop and take in the views (and play on the dunes)
2Time on trial1 hour to 1.5 hours. Great amount of time for me.

1 Bonus: Able to jump in the sand dunes.

You enter the trail in the forest.

Because @jarvie and I were taking our time during this first part (I was taking pictures of the forest!) we were much slower than the rest of the family. My brother Jay made us this nice arrow to follow and then he waited for us a little further down so we would know where to go.

Here are some views when you come out of the forest.

Most of the family had hiked out to the cliffs

I took close up of Jay and Jodi up at the top.

Cliff Jumping on the sand dunes

Pretty sister

The view when you leave the dunes going towards the forest again. Simply beautiful.

The path back to the car. This was my favorite. It was so lush and green!

Back into the forest. There was really cool light coming through the trees.

Indian Sands--- Overall a super great hike through the forest, along the ocean, over sand dunes and through the thick Oregon vegetation.

very nice thank you

I absolutely love the Oregon coast! I always prefer the east coast beaches for comfort and swimming, but the west coast is far more picturesque!

That is interesting, that is how I feel about the Pacific--north and south. Growing up in San Diego that is a swimming beach and the Oregon beaches are so rocky and beautiful.

The water is too cold for me on the west coast, LOL.
