THE FAITHFUL SERVANT

CHAPTER 1

Once upon a time, there was a man called Jack. Mr Jack had two servants to serve him. One of his servants was faithful while the other was unfaithful and stole his gold. Mr Jack was old and had no son so he wanted to hand over his property to his faithful servant but he didn't know who was faithful and who was not faithful to him.

CHAPTER 2

So this is what he did: he summoned his servants to wait for him. He went to the garden and plucked two flowers which his wife planted before she died.

Then he went and gave one of the flowers to his 1st servant, Mr Eric and the other flower to his 2nd servant, Mr Jake. He told then to take care of the flowers that he would travel and would return in one month time, and that whosoever's flower was not dead but still had fine bloom would take over his property after his death. His two servants accepted the job.

CHAPTER 3

The first servant, Mr Eric, went into action. He took the flower to his room, put it in a vase full of water, opened the window so sunlight and air could touch it and two weeks later, his flower bloomed more beautifully. While the second servant, Mr Jake, didn't know what to do. He took the flower to his room, locked the window, and turned on the electric light (there was light in the house every time)and didn't even care to water his plant. When he went to Eric's room and saw Eric working on his flower, he would tell him: "You are wasting your time and energy" But Eric wouldn't listen to Jake. He continued taking good care of his flower.

CHAPTER 4

After one month, their master, Mr Jack came home from his journey. He saw Mr Eric's flower and was impressed. When he asked Mr Jake for his flower, Mr Jake told him that the flower was dried up. Mr Jack was so angry. He sent Jake away. When Mr Jack died, Mr Eric took over all he owned because he was a faithful servant to Mr Jack. He took great care of all Mr Jack's property and lived happily ever after.
