What a crazy year it has been for Cryptocurrency so far!
We have gone from an unstoppable force that was seemingly going to make everyone rich by the end of the year, to some pretty low lows, coupled with doom and gloom predictions, (from the uninitiated, mind you), and heavy losses for a lot of people that, frankly speaking, were completely unprepared!
The Crypto-space is still very young in terms of the world stage, even though by many accounts you could argue that it is well on it's way to being established, the fact remains that to your average "Sunday morning paper" investor, it simply presents too much instability, and too much information for most people to even know where to begin.
It seems to me though, that this could all be changing very soon.....in fact it already has!
Enter Max Lee, an active Youtube tech reviewer, and crypto-enthusiast. It seems Max has been through the same process of being "broken in", so to speak, as a lot of young, excited folks go through as they first get into Crypto. First there's the discovery that by simply following a Youtube tutorial and building a mining rig, one can pretty much start printing money from his University dorm room. Then, as he/she watches the markets and starts to get more informed on the daily pendulum swings of most altcoins, the urge to get involved becomes too strong and they take as much cash as they can muster and jump on in, gleefully unaware of the sharks and killer whales they dive head first in to swim with!
Before long, they have a couple of failed Pump & Dump schemes and a whole lot of losses to lick their wounds over, and more often than not, they give up. They tuck their tails between their legs and go back to their day to day's, eager to put that embarrassing little venture behind them and move on to more tried and tested methods of making money.
But not Max! He wasn't gonna accept defeat that easily!
Before long he had joined forces with some others and, unwittingly at this point it seems, started a revolution that is promising more and more each day to turn this whole dangerous and unstable game people have been playing completely upside down, and nurture the crypto currency space into the blue chip status it deserves in the eyes of the general public.
He and his ever growing legion of supporter's started the HODL movement, which I'm sure everyone reading down to this point already knows about quite well!
But this brings us to the crux of my observation, and I'm not sure even Max realises yet as he spends each day thinking about Chaincoin, just how much of an impact this little revolution he's at the forefront of could have not only on Chaincoin, BUT ON THE ENTIRE CRYPTO CURRENCY SPACE FROM THIS POINT ONWARDS.
You see, the main thing this movement has done is show us that by banding together and supporting the projects we see as valuable, there really is no end to what we can achieve!
Now whoever's reading this next line please don't misunderstand, and let me open by saying that I hold Chaincoin also, and am heavily rooting for it to succeed, as well as thanking Max and the rest of the Chain Gang for what they've started. (I wouldn't mind some more news on whether it's really coming to Bittrex or not though!!)
Let's face it though, if it wasn't for this movement, Chaincoin would probably already have disappeared. I have heard members of the CHC core group saying that they have spoken to the Chaincoin devs, and that they are working hard on the project, and I'll admit I don't have enough FACTS to be able to comment otherwise. But it is quite clear that at least until the HODL experiment/movement got underway, development on the CHC project had all but completely stopped, and it was in a very tough spot indeed.
Does this mean I think all this growth is artificial and that Chaincoin can't succeed? Hell no it doesn't, and as I mentioned earlier, I am hoping and believing otherwise, but this brings me to my next point.
If this "advanced HODL technology", as Max calls it, could work for a coin that had all but completely died off, how much more potential does it have on other undervalued projects, that already have momentum and an established use case in the world? How much further could it push a coin who's value proposition was already WELL AND TRULY THERE whether people decided to get behind it and HODL or not??
The simple fact is, Chaincoin is thriving BECAUSE of the HODL movement, whereas SIB will thrive whether it gets this kind of support or not!
As I have already rambled on for a lot longer than I'm sure you'll want to read, indulge me a few quick facts about SIB, the coin I believe will overtake CHC undoubtedly, it's just a matter of when. This "when" of course is in our hands, and as a community, we can surely make it happen sooner rather than later.
After watching what's been happening with Chaincoin, a group of highly active and highly optimistic investors headed up by a user called Cryptowhale, (this is his telegram and twitter username), decided to apply the same methods that revived Chaincoin on SIB, a Russian backed coin that has been making persistent in roads not only all around Russia but in the rest of the world.
The same way China has Antshares, Russia has SIBcoin, another masternode based currency and fundly enough, a fork of Dash, (so ironically it shares the same genealogy with CHC!).
Whilst Dash improved on Chaincoin, it seems, with the FSB's backing, SIBcoin has taken that same algorithm and again IMPROVED it, creating an incredibly stable, secure and anonymous currency that is already being widely used by the general public in Russia and beyond, and who's main goal, (as stated by it's developers), is to make a cryptocurrency that is easily accessible for the average user without the complications usually involved that can seem quite daunting to the not so tech-savvy.
There are 1000 SIBcoins required for a masternode, and already at least 45% of the coins in supply locked up into masternodes! Find me another coin that can claim that!
My only wish is that I had more cash right now to buy more, and while this doesn't constitute trading advice, let me just say that if I was you, I'd definitely be looking into this fast and getting onto Bittrex to secure my masternode today, before they become as unattainable as others have!
This, it seems, was always where Max's revolution was going to lead. This, is HODL 2.0.
