First of all i would like to state clearly that i live in Nigeria and as such this topic will be discussed with reference to on-going issues here. Next i would like us to re-visit the concept and gluid notion of morality.
Morality according to the dictionary talks about th distinction between good and evil, right and wrong. Following this logic, morality is a thing of the mind. As such,what is immorality? We have clearly established that morality is of one's mind, so there is no clear distinction of what is moral and what is not. How then can you tell me that what i have done, which concerns only me, affecting no one else is immoral? I hear people tell me that smoking is immoral, even when i smoke in the comfort of my home, in my own room.
Using the musician Tekno as a case study, who can say what is right and what is wrong? He was arrested for posting a video of semi-nude women dancing with him. No children, no slaves and no torture...how exactly is this immoral, when a serving senetor slaps a woman in a sex toy shop and is caught on camera? Who exactly states morals? Aren't we all animals?
