Fair enough, however if you can't hold it in your hands then you don't really own it. The crypto game is awesome and I'm enjoying it however I prefer to preserve some of my efforts by converting steem into precious metals. It will never go to zero! You never want all of your eggs in one basket my friend!

This is on point and exactly what I would do.
I will always choose silver over crypto, however I now believe that there are more subtle things to consider. There are certain strategic times to use the steem to buy silver. I made an impulse decision and used my steem when it was underperforming. If I had waited till, lets say today, I would have been able to get a lot more for my money! Buying silver is never a mistake, however I will never buy on impulse again and always make sure I employ my strategies and control my emotions to leverage the amount I can afford! just followed you! :) ~Hratch
Agreed, but your "direction" is right: earning steem to eventually convert into physical silver. The timing is always going to be difficult especially given the volatility of crypto.
Very true! I ultimately treat cryptos as a means to an end, and that end is physical wealth. There is a tremendous opportunity with the cryptos today and I will take advantage, but people treat their growing STEEM and BTC accounts like its real wealth when all it is is just an illusion of (but potential for) wealth. I was told by wise people that what you don't use, you lose. I refuse to lose the value of my investment by not manifesting it into something of physical and historic value. Steem and the other cryptos are a confidence game. Metals reign supreme as REAL money!

Those are nice and I'd kind of like to own one, however when it comes to liquidity. they are hard to sell because a lot of people are wary whether or not it is real. Feel me?

I don't believe so. I live in New Jersey.
it will get to NJ sooner or later. By the end of the year there will be enough states that have made it legal tender that you can just take your silver to one of their banks and convert it
I'm mostly with you, but have to pause when I see the spread on selling back a bar where I have taken delivery. Yes, holding silver is part of a long term plan, but if the proverbial SHTF, I'm thinking recognized coins make more sense. What do you think?
Yes, on the short term Eagles are good to have in the SHTF scenario. The hysteria will not last forever however. Bars will be good to have when economies begin to start up once again. Just my opinion. Sometimes it's good to have a valuable item which is not as liquid. This way you will have for when the time is right instead of earliest convenience. It's a strategic long term plan.π
