Barber quarter

in #silver6 years ago

From the 1830s to the 1890s the seated liberty design was practically the only design used for silver coins. A new design was desperately needed so the government offered a cash prize for the best design. Charles Barber made a very robust yet sturdy design that the government found promising. It replaced the previous design on three of the four silver coins.

My 1914 quarter is in very fine condition and worth about $10. I wanted a barber quarter in better condition but the price skyrockets to $50 in extra fine condition and hundreds for uncirculated coins. Information citation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barber_coinage
