Some Silver Stackers know of these thirty-five percent Silver content, “Silver War Nickels”. US Nickel collecting is one of the most overlooked, out of favor, investment opportunities, available today. A US Five-Cents Nickel may be the only circulating, real money, available to the Public. Since, its intrinsic value, (today, $.056), exceeds its USD denomination of five-cents. Yeah, OK, there is an argument that the Cent/Penny, rivals the Nickel, too. But this is about the Silver Nickel. Today, the LCS, was asking $1(USD), each. With a melt value of about, $1.17, I'm interested. Of about, 500 to chose from, I picked these twenty, or so. Eighteen, (0.05625 T-OZ, each) exceeds a Troy Ounce of Silver. Under $18/oz, per T-OZ.

This hundred±year-old, 1920, Buffalo/Indian Head Nickel was among the hoard. It is not Silver, but has a much higher numismatic value.

Quite frankly I think that US nickels are the most interesting coin to collect at the moment. The war nickels are the most interesting variety of nickels ever produced.

Coinflation reports that the melt value of a US nickel is $0.0597106 . I suspect that the coins will pull numerous collectors into numismatics.

An interesting question is the extent to which Buffalo Nickels will hold a premium to Jefferson Nickels? They have similar metal composition.

In the penny world, I wonder the extent to which wheaties will be hold a premium over Lincoln Memorial pennies. I doubt that collectors in a hundred years would care about the different between Wheaties and Memorial coins.

When I got my Father's coin collection I found two US War nickels, and in the beginning I was curious why he kept what were seemingly worthless nickels. Good thing I didn't spend them.

A great selection of coins. US nickels are a good buy just now, the best value !

Canada had silver 5 Cents but you would have to go back to 1921 for those tiny coins nick named 'fishscales'.

Wow that's a steal

Nice coins to add to your collection
