I was carrying this silver piece today. It, in fact the whole series has sentimental value to me.
My former LCS owner used to call these "Animal maples". They were just maples to Barry, spot +10%. He unfortunately passed a while back, but I always remember the Animal maples.
Stuff like this is in my "last to sell" stack, to remember my old friend Barry... he used to treat me good, he even had a special box he called the "John box". That box was all the weird bars and rounds he would set aside that he thought I would want.
Folks, cherish the local coin shop relationship, it's priceless.
But it's not forever.

Relationships like that are to be treasured.... they definitely don't last forever!!!
His son took over the business, so the relationship with the shop is still there, but theres no more stories from long ago...

Which reminds me that I'm overdue to visit a favorite coin shop in Richmond, Western Coin and Stamp. I'll bring $1000 next time.
