Bee and Buck

Hi Stackers

I stumbled on this pretty coin - on the web - consisting of guilded silver.
Mint is World Coin Appreciation although I am not sure that is the correct name or the serie name perhaps.

Anyway, it is a kind of replica of the coins that were used in Ephesus in Southern Turkiye (classic Greek period) one of the biggest cities at the time and still worth a visit as I can testify (I went there in 1995 with Mrs Goldrooster on our maiden holiday)

What I like is that they did not center the coin 100% right what happened a lot ofcourse in those days when coins were struck using a hammer. (hammertime)

Artemis the goddess of Ephesus had the bee and other animals as her symbol. (Like Athens had the Owl!)

Mintage will be 500 and weight is 15 gramms. Shame it is not gold!

And now a picture of what Ephesus/ Efeze looks nowadays!

You Americans will now now what you see! Also visit the museum in nearby village Celsuk! All 40 km from city Izmir

Oh Myyyyyyy
But it quite look weighing much though

It's a nice looking coin. I thought at first it was gold !

Only 500 minted. This replica strike would be cheaper than trying to get the original coin by far you collectors of the Ancients.

Dear @goldrooster, sorry to jump in a bit off topic but may I ask you to support the HiveBuzz proposal?
It recently lost its funding, is struggling to get back above the HBD stabilizer proposal, and is in dire need of help.
