Here is another coin hot from the pres portraying a goddess. Yes that rhymes!
It is the first of a serie which makes it a bit extra interesting. First coins of series are often missed by colelctors and in time they offer a little extra to complete a serie. But only if the serie becomes a success. Like the Ruande Wildlife series. I do not expect that here as the coins are expensive already and with 500 a low mintage serie. In fact you pay already a collector bonus.
The serie of 2 ounce high relief coloured Niue coins is called : female deities of the ancient world
First one is of Themis Greek goddess of justice. She wera a blindfold to proof she is not influeced in any way. She is the 2nd wife of Zeus I read and she was Titan. I am always surprised how many mythical gods the old Greek had.

Yep, only top tier Greek Gods and Goddesses need apply to get on the coins.
That's why we don't see those like Doorkius, god of the door stops.

Thank you for sharing with us this beautiful coin. Also we can see Themis representation on the Tarot card Justice. In this case Rider Waite and Pamela Colman draw this Goddess with open eyes. It means that Justice can see clearly both sides of situation.
