[Last times...]

Coming up slowly from the east, Galligan led his men carefully to within forty feet of the clearing…

“Thaur we ur! Be cannie of Loon Tipper men! Fin' yer targit an' hauld a ready trigger! When ye hears mah whistle…fire!” Galligan whispered as he carefully cocked his musket.

Laying the bead of his barrel squarely on the center of the head of the warrior who held the tether, Galligan quickly pursed his lips and let out a loud catbird whistle!!

[South side shore of the St. Lawrence river...]
Catbird-call.jpg
The high pitched cat-bird whistle echoed through the forest like a siren! Every man felt the cold, hard switch of “kill or be killed” get flipped into auto-pilot! Junior Petty Officer - Quartermaster's Mate Nitech and Seaman- Gunsmiths Affisara and Tayoutoftherz all took a bead on the Potawatomi warriors in the clearing to the west!

Commander Galligan clenched his teeth and pulled his trigger and the Indian holding the tether of Boy Tipper died standing-up, never hearing a sound, before finally tumbling to the ground!

Almost in perfect chorus, musket-fire erupted from three different directions!

Boom.jpg

Of the three remaining Indians, only one fell to the ground, his body riddled with lead! But the third warrior and his leader hit the ground untouched!

“Bloody fockin' hell!” Galligan yelled in a rage, “ Ye coods hav at leest picked yer targets!!”
Galligan-2.jpg
In the clearing, the two remaining warriors hugged the ground in shock and fear! The leader’s face was splattered from the blood of one of his dead companions and he squirmed about, trying hard to see his attackers. Glancing north, he spotted the crewman in the shallows of the river in clear view as they were the closest. Pivoting on his hip, he strung his bow and let it’s deadly arrow fly with the skill of many years of practice.

Loon Aseygrimley let out a brief, muffled gurgle as the arrow skewered his neck and fell backward into the water. Before Junior Petty Officer - Caulker's Mate Aissez-faire could even reach out to grab him, the river quickly swept his body away.

The second warrior struck an arrow to his bowstring and gazed south, there in a small clearing he caught sight of one of his attackers and he let his missile fly from a low crouching position!
Zwiipp!.jpg
Next to Petty Officer – Sailmaker Andofzara, Boy Djesus screamed as the arrow stuck him squarely in the chest and he went down! Andofzara desperately hit the ground and rolled over towards him…

“Breath Loon! Breath deep!” He said frantically in a low tone as he began to strip away the boy’s tunic to see where the arrow had pierced his chest.
Handofzara.jpg
The boy took one deep breath and then his eyes stared straight upward as his ghost left the body.

Andofzara let his head fall forward on the boy’s limp corpse for a moment as emotion overtook him.

In the east Commander Galligan jumped forward and threw his spent musket to the ground…”Swords cheil! Swords! Shaw th' savages hoo a fockin' Scottish warriur fights! Tar Hail!!”

There was a brief shout as all remaining crewman charged the clearing!

Not knowing how many attackers there were, the leader of the Potawatomi turned to his companion in a panic…”We must run! Keep you head low and make for the village!!” (Translated)

The two stealthy warriors wound their way through the brush to the east with the speed of wolves in flight! Neither of them gave a thought to their prisoner however as Tipper lay huddled under a patch of ferns, his arms hugging his head and his legs drawn up underneath him in fright!

"Tar Hail!!”

"Och aye! Tar Hail it is Lassie! An naeone does it better than th' Commander!" 😉 -Keptin

Gotta learn from the best but my Battle cry is very tiny if you hear me on Discord chat ... 'Tar Hail!" That's only one exclamation.
The Commander gets THREE exclamation points!!!
