To my dear Secret Santa,
Why this coin Santa? The original mint may have produced a very short run of the 2024 Cutty Sark Nautical Ounce series of famous ships. In fact the mint has yet to publish their mintage of any coin in this series. My unfortunate timing is partly to blame falling off my radar dealing with my mother's passing that 2024 autumn. I believe it being this German mint coming under fire by the Somalian Central Bank for the unauthorized minting Somalian coins. All production ceased until the issue was cleared up or the cash is directed to corrupt er... correct channels. By then the production would be retooling for the upcoming 2025 products.

Normally I would have called upon Danny, and he likes to be my personal Santa, to pin one of these down for me in the US market. But now I'm on my own hoping one would show up in the pitiful Itty bitty Canadian secondary market. So far, I have yet to see one on Ebay.ca.
I suspect this coin will come with a higher sellers premium if it's market absence is any indication.
For the Second Day of Christmas my true love's sister took from me...
Alas, the unhappy tale about this much sought after Florida 5 Goldback is as follows. I recall asking Danny to set aside a pair of these Florida 5 Goldbacks for me back around April along with a handful of coins he was planning to send me this Christmas. He suddenly passed away last May leaving me and our Discord friends stunned. His personal Discord is still running as his other friends drop by time to time to share our memories.
Lately some have been keeping an eye out for any of Danny's estate appearing on Ebay. It was heartbreaking to see them up for sale. 😢
I never got Danny's special annual Christmas package and have to presume that he never had the time to leave directions concerning his estate. He told me that neither his siblings, nieces and nephews were at all interested in Stacking, his mother's vintage jewelry and Dragons. I suspect that his sister simply divided his treasures evenly regardless of sentimental or collectablity. She may have my Miho Matsuda Pullip doll. I seen some of his items that his Instagram friends positively identified. So far two Ebay sellers have been selling his stack/collection were identified by the unique numbers on his poured silver. I'm tempted to pick up a few of his Dragon coins.
Bilge rats! I got sniped on the 2013 Demeter sailing ship. 😩

Physical precious metals bullion stacking is only a part of my personal overall financial strategy. Meanwhile, collecting numismatics are a different set of objectives and strategy. Unless you are a complete nutcase as I am please, do your research before deciding to buy into any bullion or numismatic products.
Those are two awesome items to receive for Christmas, such a shame he passed away. Life is short and you never know what tomorrow will bring...

I've been checking those Ebay Sellers thinking about picking up some of his memorable coins we gifted to each other. Perhaps I've attributed too much when in the end its just silver and nothing much more. I don't know. When I see them show up on Ebay, I'll have to play it by ear and how much I have in my checking account.
My finances starting this month is going into Retirement income mode, my income is about 73% of my working income now, not including investment income and my Pirate pension fund. IF I don't go on a trip in the next year assuming that I am healthy enough. And if medical expenses don't undermine financial infrastructure.

That's not bad for retirement income! I know those medical expenses can get in the way of other plans (like travel) having been there myself. I like to troll around eBay too, looking for deals but so few are to be had anymore with prices as high as they have gotten. Oh well!

I hope so, but I won't get bent out of shape if I didn't Sis. But losing those Gold-backs and coins that Danny saved up for me smarted more since they came from him. I need to convince myself it's just money in the end and I should not attribute more to them than what they really are.

It's been a tough last three years for me.

Nothing like a quick trip to the ER to put things into perspective.

Great @kleiberswc I like to collect a few non-silver coins. There is a Hive Collectors community that welcomes both precious metal and non-precious metal coins as long as represent a part of a collection. I check there on a regular basis. I have some South American silver, a few Venezuelan Bolivares, Peruvian Sol and Reals, a Columbian 2 Reales when it was called Granada. And my favorite Mexican Colonial Reales and cobs.
Even if they are not silver or gold, If they are old do please share.
