The ship's doctor knows what he's doing ,he'll help Lupega. He diagnoses things very easily. The only bad thing about him is that he smokes on the sick, and the point is, the sick recover. Maybe it's what he's smoking, hahaha. Best not to jump to conclusions.
When I read that he has a stick in his hand, I thought, "He's going to hit me on the head. That way I'll remember everything, but I'll have a bigger problem: the blow to the head." I'd better not continue. Medicine is definitely not for me.
