I agree with you. The new Angel of Independence does the real statue more justice. It's beautiful; I saw her in person before.
The famous mountain scene is greatly improved too with some added depth and Popocatepetl (the solitary peak) doesn't look squished in anymore. I haven't seen them yet but when I see this I don't see a coin, I see art. You can tell a lot of effort was put into making the new version.
The reverse is special in its own right too, in my opinion. All the previous eagles from older coins side by side. I think the previous old school eagle designs were better than the one that is currently used. A great inclusion on a great coin.
