Afternoon everyone……
We are having a blast down the shore this year. The weather is absolutely perfect and we’ve enjoyed some fabulous meals.

These pictures were taken from Beach street in Cape May. For those of you that don’t know, Cape May is a very historical town, filled with old colonial houses and tons and tons of history.
The water in Cape May is very calm for the Atlantic Ocean. It is tucked away on the inside tip of the state. You can’t go any further in the state.
Our main reason for heading to Cape May was to eat at a place that I’ve been trying to get a reservation at for four years now. They are only open Wednesday through Sunday from 5pm-9pm. You can’t only make reservations through the Resy app and reservations can only be made ten days in advance.
The name of the restaurant is “Primal By Mia”. This restaurant has been in numerous publications as one of the top steakhouses in New Jersey. It’s a very small place with only twenty two tables.

I will start off telling you that this place was well worth the wait. The place is beautiful, our ocean front table was fabulous, and the food was amazing!!!
View from our table….

Their menu is short, but it covers most people fairly easily.

They brought us two bottles of water to start, with a tray of freshmade Parmesan crusted rolls. They came with two dipping sauces fresh basil pesto, and a Calabrian chili oil. Both were fantastic. Sorry no picture of those.
We all shared a burrata appetizer which was out of this world. Hand baked flat garlic breadsticks, caramelized onion, fire roasted tomatoes and garlic cloves, with caviar on top of the fresh burrata. Here is the dish.

There were five of us. Three of us ordered the twenty ounce Cowboy cut ribeye, the two ladies both ordered an eight ounce filet mignon. Shortly after our appetizer, the waiter brought us a house salad which comes with any entree order.
This was one hell of a salad, tons of stuff in it with shaved parmigiana reggiano on top.

Now for the main course……
The Cowboy cut ribeye:

Now for the filet:

All five steaks were perfectly cooked over a true hardwood grill. They were all perfectly seasoned and fork tender. We also ordered a side of garlic mashed potatoes. They were to die for…. Tons of butter, silky smooth and the right amount of roasted garlic flavor.
There is no dessert menu. But dessert is included with every entree as well. The desserts change daily from what the server told us. Last nights dessert was freshly made cheesecake.
Look at this masterpiece!!!!

That is three roughly four inch around cheesecakes with a freshly whipped chocolate mousse top. There is a berry compote, fresh strawberries as well, pound cake crumbles and a chocolate sauce.
GONE!!!!!
I am highly impressed with this place in every way. If you are ever near southern New Jersey then you need to try and get here to eat.
I have never spent any time in New Jersey. Looks wonderful!
