There is just something amazing about old coins. There designs, the history, where they’ve been that is so intriguing to me.
Now @kerrislravenhill has shown off one of these coins in the past. It’s been on my list before she had shown it, but one in mint state condition is not only harder to find but expensive as well.
In my searching through auction sites. I had come across this coin. Sunday auctions….
Because it was wildcard weekend for the NFL and most people were not looking or on auction sites for coins.
Well….
I took that as an opportunity to try and win this particular coin. And I did it even while watching the football games….😂
From watching the item on auction. It seemed like there were two separate people interested in it earlier in the day. There was no activity in the price for the last hour of the auction at all. So I waited till the 5 second mark and put my highest bid for the coin in.
Luckily it didn’t go to my max bid and I won the auction. And for $35 less than my max bid. The coin is valued for $100 more than I bought it for. So to me it’s a score.
The coin is a 1912 M45 Japan One Yen. It’s been graded by NGC as an MS62. The coin is in tremendous shape and the color and luster are really nice.
