I’ve had enough about all these material price hikes. It’s been really stressful and it’s affecting my work. So I’ve decided I’m over it.
Today I pulled out something that is not still available and to my knowledge was only offered for a very limited time only.
This bar is from the Scottsdale Mint. I believe it was produced in 2018 for a very brief period of time. Back then was the introduction of hand poured bars from the Scottsdale Mint.
They offered a ten ounce Scottsdale Logo Lion bar in handpoured silver and this bar. The ten ounce lion bar has popped up every once in a while from them. But I’ve never seen this bar offered since that small window.
This is a hand poured five ounce “Prey” bar. They make a pressed five ounce “Prey” bar that you can still find but this bar is quite difficult to find and expect to pay a hefty premium if you do find it.

The bars are wicked cool. Aside from the really cool bubble holes on the back of the bars. The satin style front finish is amazing.
Scottsdale in my opinion is the modern day Engelhard. The consistent quality from them is impeccable and the special pours they splash in from time to time is fantastic.
I searched every auction site that I use. Not one of these bars was found currently or sold in the last six months.
The only “Prey” bars sold are the pressed version not hand poured.
I did find one of these Prey bars at my Nekkai Center coin show. In fact the show is on again in 11 days and I hope I could get there. I do recall that the bar did have quite a Premium.

It's just horrible everywhere. I usually let my wife handle the groceries and I don't pay too much attention, but the other day she was complaining about the prices so I looked at what we have been spending lately compared to what we used to and it is just nuts!
