I have a very different coin to share with you today. The coin is a 2021 Tailored Specimen Maple Leaf one ounce coin. You will notice that the coin has a brushed appearance on the surface. This is an intentional finish which is extremely difficult by the Winnipeg Mint.
A key feature is the recognition of its production at Winnipeg, with the issuance of a W mintmark on the reverse.
This coin is only the second Maple Leaf in history to be struck at the Winnipeg Mint. The Winnipeg Mint produces all of the circulated coinage for Canada and rarely produces collector coins.
The coin features a first time ever Tailored Specimen finish
Only 8,000 coins were minted
Minted in once troy-ounce of pure .9999 silver
Certified in flawless SP70 condition by NGC
Signature coin hand signed by Susan Taylor
Low NGC certified population of only 600 coins.
Certified in flawless SP70 condition by NGC this coin is individually hand-signed by Susan Taylor, an award-winning Senior Engraver at the Royal Canadian Mint.
Features of this special first time ever tailored specimen finish are the devices are raised and have a soft satin finish while the fields have fine angled lines that meet along the vertical center of the design. This pyramid-like effect is meant to invoke the architecture of the Winnipeg Mint facility.

Sweet. I had a great day at the Mint last summer. They don't do very many precious metals coins in Winnipeg. This one is a keeper!
