Some sand, some water, some fun and some good eats….

Afternoon everyone…..

The weather here has been perfect so far during the four days we have been here already. I haven’t posted much, just trying to enjoy the vacation.

We have done quite a bit of beach/water time. The ocean is quite warm and the waves have been excellent for riding. Wildwood is known for its extremely lengthy beaches and the ability to walk out quite far into the ocean before it gets too deep for you to stand. Making it very family friendly, not so good for people who want to surf.

The temperature has been in the high eighties and low nineties, there has been a bit of humidity making it feel about ten degrees hotter each day. Which is fine down by the water, because there is a very nice ocean breeze.

One of our go to places for breakfast is a place that’s been around since I was a kid. It’s named the Sunz Up Cafe. They specialize in breakfast, but have a small lunch menu as well. They are only open until 2pm, but there is typically a line of people waiting outside until after 10am.

We do breakfast out typically once during our stay, sometimes we go twice. My standing order is the Beach Bum Special. Which consists of two eggs, bacon, hash browns and two buttermilk pancakes. Always perfect and always delicious. Oh, I forgot to mention the hand squeezed orange juice.

We typically eat just breakfast and dinner. We have a full house with a fully stocked kitchen to use. I already made French toast one morning and eggs with Taylor ham another. I also did sausage with peppers, onions and potatoes one night on the grill, and stuffed burgers as well. Caramelized onions, bacon and smoked cheddar inside.

Last night we hit up a local place for dinner, everyone was too wiped out from the sun to cook. So we went and hit a place named The Dogtooth Bar & Grill.

They have great burgers which my girlfriend and I are big fans of burgers. She got the Rodeo burger, which is bacon, smoked Gouda cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and a homemade barbecue sauce on a toasted brioche roll. I got the Shore Thing burger, which is bacon, caramelized onions, arugula, tomato with a garlic aioli on a toasted brioche bun. All there burgers are eight ounces of handmade patties. The fries are also hand cut.

We also played a round of mini golf as well. The place we enjoy has three nine hole course. You pick which two you wish to play as your eighteen. Our rule is whoever is leading after nine holes picks the back nine. That was my girlfriend Jennifer. Well….. she picked wrong. Because I got hit and she fell apart. Winner ME!!!!

After four years, I finally got us reservations at a place in Cape May for dinner. I’ve been trying for four years now. The place is named Primal By Mia. It’s right on the water in Cape May and the food is supposed to be amazing.

I’ll let you know….

Sort:

The food looks quite good! Those places that are only open in the morning and for lunch are sometimes some of the best!

Your breakfast choice is standard for me too... YUM!!!
And burgers in a brioche roll (than any other kind of bread) are the best!
ENJOY!!!
