My Canadian Silver #3 - 1 Dollar 1964

Back with another silver beauty from Canada, this time a commemorative 1 $ coin from 1964 minted for the 100th Anniversary of Charlottetown & Quebec Conferences:

The Charlottetown and Québec conferences of 1864 were pivotal meetings that brought together influential political leaders of British North America and laid the groundwork for Canadian Confederation on 1 July 1867 source and more info

Not surprisingly, on the front side we have a young Queen Elizabeth..

The back is quite interesting featuring
the French fleur-de-lis, the Irish shamrock, the Scottish thistle, and the English rose.

At 23.33 g of 0.800 silver, this is a chunky boy with lots of symbolisms and stories to tell!

Here's a size comparison with the other Canadian pieces I have shared. A 1965 dollar and a 1966 50 cent:

And next to a euro coin..

Poor little fella, looks like Monopoly money 😂

Ok, time to put these sexy ladies back to their plastic jails! I touched them for today 😏

😂😂😂

1965 50 cent has more detail and design depth. It has both British and French flags in coat of arms.

"A mari usque ad mare" translates "from sea to sea".

4th of July is coming, bring on some Abraham coins dude. :D

It makes me wonder why all of those symbols are on the back. I guess it goes back to the crown.

Very cool!

Man, you are evil. Every time I read one of your coin posts I end up browsing ebay for coins. Haven't ordered any yet, but the urge gets stronger every time!

the scotish thingy looks like the siluette of a child with crab arms. I guess they wanted to frick everyone out

😂😂😂😂

That's a nice silver coin. It looks smaller but is much chunkier !

Good coins

Next i Will send photo of my coins collection too :)

In the 1964 one, Lizzie is wearing not the traditional crown, but more of a corona. Is that so common?

No clue lol

So you brought out the coin to stare at them while imagining how rich you are right? Hahaha

Wow that design is pretty epic

Yes, yes it is!

I'm gonna have to get one for my self , thanks for sharing

Not as nice as the canoe or totem pole ones but it’s silver.

I like it a lot actually cause of the history if has to tell!

True. But the designs of the canoe and totem pole are totally badass.

Wow, that hot chick is Queen Elizabeth? I never thought that this woman was ever young 😂

Jerking material!

😂😂😂

How long are you going to keep on stacking coins.

Seems we have a long way to go.

But this is actually a beautiful one tho.

Keep stacking..

Probably for a long long time. Just ordered a bunch :)

Wonderful silver collection

Obviously, demonetized Canadian silver coins make the largest proportion 80+% of my Junk silver stack. Planning on a trip to Canada after the reset?
