Are sins quantifiable?

Is a sin a single act? Are sins committed? Are you required to confess acts?

I argue not. I argue that sin is an absence from God. I argue that the acts of the flesh are an underlying result of a larger "sin." Is adultery a sin? Absolutely. But what underlies the adultery? Pride? Hate? Lust? Envy? Gluttony? Therefore, if the adulterer is focused on the sin of adultery, I would argue that they are missing the point. If they are focused on the act, they are not focusing on the necessary repentance. The idea isn't not cheat on your spouse, the idea is become renewed in faith. Renewed in self.

We are human. We are fallen. We live in sin. We are not with God every second of every day. Our loving Father knows this. I would love to be perfect but I am not. Therefore, give yourself a break. By no means am I saying it is ok to be without God. But don't give yourself a hard time if it doesn't happen. God is not a game. Your relationship will never be perfect. So, just keep reflecting. Keep loving. Keep offering your best to the One who has given you everything.

This is the same idea with the people in your life. Love them. They will fail you. They, sometimes, will not be able to see the larger issues in their life that cause "toxicity." If they need correction, correct them. If they need love, love them. If you need to protect yourself, apply healthy barriers. They're not perfect.

God is perfect. He sent his Son. His Son died for you. He is the sacrifice for your humanity. You can be you and love perfectly because Jesus is real. He is in you. He loves you. No matter what you do. No matter what is happening. No matter what your level of humanity(sin). You are ok. You are imperfect. You have a perfect Creator.

Take a breath. You're life has purpose. You're doing fine. Keep growing. Keep the faith. Strive to love and be loved.

I love you. Thank you.
