Is Double Cleansing Needed when we use Chemical Sunscreen?

in #skincare2 years ago

Double cleansing involves a two-step process: firstly, an oil-based cleanser helps dissolve makeup, SPF, and excess oils; secondly, a water-based cleanser removes any remaining residue and/or addresses specific skin issues.

While a regular water-based cleanser should typically break down chemical sunscreen, its performance can differ depending on the specific product formulations. For instance, gel-to-foam cleansers might work better at removing certain sunscreens than cream-based ones. However, it's crucial to avoid harsh scrubbing, which can harm the skin. It's best to test your regular cleanser and consider adding the oil-based cleanser if it does not properly remove the chemical sunscreen.
