lascaux

Images found in the Lascaux cave (French Grotte de Lascaux) in southwestern France.
In this cave, Paleolithic artists painted animals that are commonly hunted, but there are opinions that these cave paintings are astronomical star maps,

which could be used for some kind of magical rituals, ceremonies or rituals, it is also possible that they were schemes for the migration of prey from that time. If these paintings contain constellations, then this is an interesting example of how people created models of the world around them and compared celestial phenomena with what is happening on earth, looking for features and relationships.

The following image shows one of the paintings with an overlay, on top of a cave painting, with an illustration of a star chart completed on top.

Above the head of one of the animals there is an image of six dots, everyone can decide for himself, this is an image of the Pleiades star cluster, and next to it is a bull 🐂 symbolizing the constellation Taurus ♉️, which is attacked by Orion or just dots, but it is worth considering that the starry sky has always attracted primitive man , helped him navigate in space, determine the time. After all, neither clocks nor calendars existed yet ... And also the fact that drawings of the constellation Ursa Major, Orion, the phases of the moon and other celestial objects and phenomena are quite often found in primitive art.

Primitive art is so cool. I have never witnessed it first hand but would love to though. It's interesting knowing that constellations are found in primitive art.

Thanks you 💜💜💜💜💓💗💓💗💓💗💜💜💜💜
