about your eye: I have this, or something similar, happening the odd time also. Tiredness could be a reason, but I found exposure to chemicals also triggers it for me. On top of that I got so called "floaters" ever since I got hit in the eye with a tennis ball.

ouch - tennis ball - "floaters"= "transparent dancing worms :P-lately did not paint in oils, so no turpentine, and I have the odorless type anyway ,I get sick from the smell (in a very different way)
this is the first time it happened to me and I am inclined to associate it to the computer time -is gone now , so I can turn back to my reckless self
I paint with acrylics - odorless terp or not, it is not the smell but the chemical: carbon monoxide is odorless too, but it can kill you!
Yes, eye strain from staring at the monitor can cause it also. Which reminds me to shut this devil machine down and join the living again!
He he it is an adictive monster that can live so many incapable to function in its apsence :) but could be useful and helps us connect in a different way
