What is a Master-Node?

Masternode is simply a cryptocurrency full node or computer wallet that keeps the full copy of the blockchain in real-time, just like you have Bitcoin full nodes and is always up & running.
So the more masternodes you have in the network the better or stronger your network becomes.

Here is a visual on why it is so important. It's about reaching the world with your coins. The stronger the network the better the user experience with things like: Instant pay, and private send and any new ideas that can help the Eco-system. Also, enables the ability to do Proof of Stake (POS) in the future.
There are many crypto currencies that have masternode capabilities, however, what makes SmartCash SmartNodes (a.k.a masternode) stand out from the rest:
Less than 15% of the coins are locked by masternodes
- As of this article there are 677,645,859 smartcash coins in circulation and ~82,410,000 coins (8241 nodes * 10,000 coins) are locked up in SmartNodes. That represents ~12%
- Compare that to the prior leader in number of nodes Dash which has 7,871,476 coins in circulation and ~4,769,000 (4769 nodes * 1,000 coins) are locked up in Dash MasterNodes. That represents ~61%
- Less Lock the better (12%) vs. (61%)
- Winner: SmartCash
Why is this important? Because you want people to use the coin for lots of things like buying stuff and transferring value between users. If your coins are all locked up in MasterNodes what's the point of the coin?
There are more SmartNodes than any other MasterNodes out there today
- Currently there are 8,241 SmartCash SmartNode nodes throughout the world
- According to MasterNodes.pro https://masternodes.pro/ the next closest one is Dash at 4,769 and at MasterNodes.online https://masternodes.online/ SIBCoin (SIB) has 6,903 (again 6,931,000 SIB (42.47%) are locked)
- Winner: SmartCash
SmartNodes are soon to be double the amount of DASH masternodes. It's just a matter of time.
Barrier to entry is low
- Today you need 1,000 Dash for a masternode. At ~$565 per coin you need almost 1/2 a million for one Masternode
- With SmartNodes you need 10 x the amount of coins, However, at 10,000 coins at 0.35 cents a coin you only need about ~$3,500 for a masternode.
- Winner: SmartCash
- With both Dash and SmartCash you need to pay for a VPS (Virtual Private Server) that will run you about $10 a month. You need a VPS so that the masternode is on 24/7. But that's a small price to pay with the rewards you will be receiving over that month should easily pay for itself.
Summary
SmartCash has many other features besides SmartNodes. But, as it stands in 2018, SmartCash is the new kid on the block that is making a name for itself. It might be worth taking another look at this coin and decide for yourself if it's worth investing.

Yep, when combined with Smart Rewards, it's incredible to think of the earning potential of a Smartnode...Even if the price stays the same for the year (which I doubt it will), we'll be doing pretty well for having a smartnode
