Over a month ago now I made my first investment in Smartcash as it seemed to be quite cheap at the time at around $0.30 compared to ATH of $2.80. I liked the idea of having a Smartnode and some passive income but could not justify investing $3k (to get the 10,000 required) at the time. Instead, I settled for dipping my toes in the water and bought 1,000 SMART which made me eligible for Smart Rewards. At the time people we talking about 5-6% monthly returns which sounded great but I knew this was unlikely to be sustainable. Seems like people are saying it will be around 3-4% this month but I guess I will see on the 25th :)
Now that I was in on Smartcash and had done some research, thanks @brianphobos, I started looking at how Smartnodes stacked up compared to some other Masternodes available in other coins. The outcome...they stack up pretty damn good!

The first thing that jumps out is that >100% ROI per year. Yes that's right, over 100%. So if you buy 10,000 SMART today and run your Smartnode correctly for a year you would have 20,000 SMART. And that is before you consider Smart Rewards! Now this obviously comes with some caveats which I will come to later, but it is worth comparing Smartcash to some other popular cryptos on the list.
By far the biggest coin on this list is DASH which costs a whopping $434,000 to get a masternode. A huge investment for a return of 8% per year. Another popular coin is PIVX which costs $41,000 to get a masternode for a return of 10% per year. Most of the rest of the coins I have never even heard of and a quick check of Coinmarketcap tells me that WGR has the highest ranking at 185. In summary, Smartcash offers by far the cheapest masternode with a ROI exponentially higher than any other coin in the top 100 on Coinmarketcap.
Now back to those caveats, when I last checked a few weeks ago the ROI on Smartcash was around 118% so it has dropped somewhat, and I expect it to continue to drop in the future (there is only ever going to be 5 billion SMART, so they can't dish it out at the rate they are now forever). Also the fact that you are getting a 100% ROI in terms of SMART does not mean you are getting a 100% ROI in terms of $ or €. SMART may continue to fall in price. However it may also increase in price, especially in the long term. Consider if SMART gets back to those all time highs, your $1,500 investment is going to look very smart indeed! However, in the end it is up to you to do your own research and decide for yourself if you want to invest in a Smartnode.
Personally I am going to continue my small investments in SMART and hope to reach that magic 10k figure in the coming months. Sounds weird to say but I am not opposed to this bear market continuing for a little while longer so I can get in on the cheap!
