SmartCash needs to fix the SmartNode bug that has been exploited for the past 3 months before working on ANYTHING else!
There are major issues with SmartCash that are NOT being transparently and proactively communicated to the public, potential investors or existing holders.
Summary:
There is an bug in SmartCash 1.1.1 code that has not been fixed for over 3 months
Someone is actively exploiting the bug to steal hundreds of thousands to millions of SmartCash from mining rewards.
SmartCash moderators censor and ban members that speak of the exploit.
SmartCash community members do not have power to vote on SmartCash development. They can only vote on proposals.

I believe that you are right, adding additional problems is not a good idea.
Energy and time should be more focused on resolving issues and creating 1 great token than 2 or 3 failures.
the Dev team will not be split, the sister coin will have its own dev resources, allowing smartcash to further develop its adoption and merchant focus. whilst the new coin will go down the privacy path.
I get what you are saying, I have aquired a liking in #smartcash would be disappointed if neglected due to an alternate coin. Thank you @hockleyj for the input, much apreciated.
