In einem Smart Home kommunizieren unterschiedliche Geräte miteinander, vor allem mit dem neuen Standart Matter. Durch ihre einheitliche Bedienung per App oder Sprachbefehl und viele Funktionen erhöhen sie Sicherheit und den Komfort Zuhause. Die neue Technologie wirft aber auch viele Fragen auf: Was ist ein Smart Home? Wie viel kostet ein Smart Home? Wie baue ich ein Smart Home auf?
Heute möchte ich mich mit den Fragen beschäftigen: Was ist Smart Home? Und was kann Smart Home?
Was ist SmartHome?
Der Begriff SmartHome
Obwohl sich der Begriff “Smart Home” mittlerweile etabliert hat, gibt es weitere Bezeichnungen für ähnliche oder teilweise auch identische Systeme und Produkte. Anfangs wurden entsprechende Systeme beispielsweise als Lösungen für die “Hausautomatisierung”, “Heimautomatisierung” oder “Gebäudeautomatisierung” bezeichnet. Einige Anbieter verwenden zudem Marketing-Begriffe wie “Connected Living”, “Smart Living”, “Intelligentes Wohnen” oder “Connected Home”.
Ein Smart Home erleichtert Dir den Alltag. Dazu arbeiten vernetzte Geräte in deinem Haus oder Wohnung und deinem Garten Hand in Hand.
Was kann SmartHome?
Komfort
Unter dem Begriff Smart Home werden Systeme und Verfahren bezeichnet, mit denen die Haustechnik, Haushaltsgeräte und die Unterhaltungselektronik in Wohnungen und Häusern miteinander vernetzt und automatisiert werden. Auf diesem Weg lässt sich der Komfort erhöhen, da die Geräte nicht mehr oder zumindest seltener manuell geschaltet werden müssen.
Sicherheit erhöhen
Häufig werden Smart Home-Systeme zudem im Bereich der Hausüberwachung und –sicherheit eingesetzt. So können beispielsweise Türen und Fenster mit Sensoren überwacht werden, um auf diesem Weg ein Alarmsystem aufzubauen. Sobald bei Abwesenheit der Bewohner Türen oder Fenster geöffnet, werden beispielsweise Sirenen und die Beleuchtung eingeschaltet und die Bewohner auf ihren Smartphones über den Einbruch informiert.
Energie Sparen
Ein weiterer Anwendungsbereich, der mit Blick auf die steigenden Strom- und Heizkosten zunehmend an Bedeutung gewinnt, ist eine effizientere Energienutzung. So lassen sich beispielsweise die Heizkosten mit einem Smart Home System reduzieren, indem die Heiztemperatur automatisch gesenkt wird, wenn sich keine Bewohner im Haus aufhalten. Insbesondere in Kombination mit einer Photovoltaikanlage kann eine “smarte” Steuerung der Hauselektronik zudem die Stromkosten senken. Das System sorgt dann etwa automatisch dafür, dass die Waschmaschine dann eingeschaltet wird, wenn die PV-Anlage ausreichend Strom produziert.

What can SmartHome do?
Comfort
The term smart home refers to systems and processes with which building technology, household appliances and entertainment electronics in apartments and houses are networked and automated. In this way, convenience can be increased, since the devices no longer have to be switched on manually, or at least less often.
Increase security
Smart home systems are also often used in the area of home surveillance and security. For example, doors and windows can be monitored with sensors in order to set up an alarm system in this way. As soon as doors or windows are opened when the occupants are absent, sirens and lights are switched on, for example, and the occupants are informed of the burglary on their smartphones.
Save energy
Another area of application that is becoming increasingly important in view of the rising electricity and heating costs is more efficient use of energy. For example, heating costs can be reduced with a smart home system by automatically lowering the heating temperature when there are no residents in the house. Especially in combination with a photovoltaic system, a "smart" control of the home electronics can also reduce electricity costs. The system then automatically ensures that the washing machine is switched on when the PV system is producing enough electricity.
