Thank you!! I adore the Canaries as well, but pretty sad about what they have done to the environment from logging. I found Gran Canaria to be the most eroded. Only at this region near Roque Nublo there are pine trees left, which are now protected under the National Park. To think that all those other bare mountains on the photo once were covered in vegetation. Hopefully over time they will regenerate and recover lost fauna from replanting projects.
Actually, I have only visited Tenerife so far, I spent there a couple of months in 2016 and the nature, especially in the north of the island, was really breathtaking. Sorry to hear GC is so damaged :( Once I get back to the Canaries, La Palma and La Gomera are the islands that I want to see the most as they say these islands are still very pristine, untouched by the mass tourism. Have you been there?
I have not been there, but I've heard that they are incredible. I've visited Tenerife, GC and Lanzerote. Lanzerote is insanely wild! 1/4 of the island's surface is covered by lava, so it's kind of hard for trees to grow and humans to log them :)
