It's the season for Avocado fruits here. We are lucky enough that my parents planted 3 Avocado trees right at their own backyard. One tree was given to one of our relatives so they can harvest all the fruits it will bear and sell it to make an extra income for them.
But for my parents, they only want these fruits for their own consumption. They are too old to climb the tree and pick all its bear fruits, so what they did is just to wait for the fruits to fall from the ground naturally, sometimes the birds help to ease the process. Those birds will going to eat part of the stem where those fruits are attached, and when the wind blows especially if it is a strong wind, the fruits will fall.
Everyday there are one or two and sometimes three fruits that they can pick from the ground. Most of the fruits are not yet ready to eat and still needs some days before it will going to ripe, so mother will stock some on them in a fruit tray.
There are times that my auntie who also have Avocado tree in their yard, will give my parents some of her harvested fruits.
The cost of a kilo of Avocado is pricey in the market so we are lucky enough to eat these fruits once everyday.
The best to eat Avocado for me is to scrape it and put condense milk on it and that will surely satisfy every snack and meal you have.
