KARMA: MY REALISTICAL VIEW

Let's talk about Karma for a bit, shall we? When I hear the word Karma, what comes to mind is retribution. For some reason, evil is being repaid.

You could say it is a way the universe punishs the wicked and evil doers.

Now, it is one thing to believe and another thing for it to come to pass. You could believe that karma would punish those that wronged you and its outcome might not be what you expect.

Like how most Nollywood movies would portray this ideology, that if a girl rejects a guy when he is broke, he would become rich and she would still be struggling in the village.

We all know how that narrative plays out in real life.

So here's the thing about Karma. It's not guaranteed.

A lot of people have banked their hopes in Karma, expecting it to make their enemies suffer, but alas! the reverse is the case.

This what leads to resentment and generational hatred.

Truth be told, I am not a fan of Karma.

Why wait for the universe to fight for me when I am still alive and well?

I am more or less a " You go low, I work with your frequency " type of person.

Like Gen Zs would say "Aura for Aura".

I have seen many of my friends that would leave people who wronged then, saying Karma would punish them.

Karma can be bribed o

That's on a lighter note.

Realistically speaking, nobody is coming to fight your battles for you .

Take for instance, your village people.

Don't expect thunder to strike them one day for being mean to you.

Their children will still progress and become useful in life.

They might even live longer than you.

Let me tell you a little story.

While I was growing up, still in secondary school, there was this girl who was my senior then.

She would always call me blind girl.

It was a derogatory nickname meant to spite me and make fun of my eye defect.

I am short sighted and often have to wear medicated lenses to see.

She would call me blind girl everytime our paths crossed in school.

I was always wishing Karma would punish her by making her blind or giving her a severe eye defect.

I was disappointed when it didn't happen.

Instead of me to have cautioned her against using such nicknames, I kept mute and let her bully me with words.

Now, I have learnt my lesson.

If you think my eye defect is something to laugh about, think twice before saying derogatory words out loud to my hearing.

My mouth has enough ammunition to sink your self esteem to the ground.

Now, don't get me wrong.

I am not saying Karma doesn't work.

I am saying that I don't believe in it.

It is either I forget about what they did, or take drastic measures to exert punish, while still talking to God about in my prayers.

This is my realistic view about Karma.

Everyone has different perspectives and this is mine.
