Interesting, I just made this post a couple of days ago https://utopian.io/utopian-io/@cryplectibles/steem-and-sbd-directly-integrated-in-openbazaar having the same basic desire in mind that you have, in the sense that a marketplace for Steemit artists. However I think having physical goods or even digital arts sold only on the Steemit platform rather than a marketplace that accepts many cryptocurrencies is just so limiting to the artists.
I think if Steemit artists were to share their goods on OpenBazaar with descriptions, links, etc, showing ones Steemit home page as a base, would be optimal for not only people to sell their arts but to bring more users to Steemit. Having a Steemmarket feels like it is just targeted toward Steem users only instead of everyone being able to enjoy the arts posted but have the underlying tech for transactions take place on the Steem blockchain. IE, be able to accept payments in Steem from users who are not even on Steemit yet (this also brings the market cap up on Steem and/or SBD). Win win win.
Basically I like your way of thinking but I just think it can be bigger.
I understand what you mean. In fact, what I'm about is not mostly (also, but not mostly) a shop, but a service for artists to share data and infos and collaborate together to carry out their projects. I think to a community of artists that create good visual contents and get money by the Steem system of rewarding. Of course, selling artworks is still good, but, as you say, there are already good online shops for that.
