Snookataria.
Snook woke early the next morning with excitement, thinking about all the new book she would have to read from the library she didn't know was there. She also had the thought. I'm getting up today when I normally go to sleep. Jack's right she thought. There is strange things going on and chuckled to herself.
Snook walked from her bedroom to the living room and back again a few times wondering where the door to the library was. Mr Actoo was still sleeping on his cushion. Maybe it's in the kitchen, she thought and realising she didn't have her coffee yet went to heat up some water.
Sipping her coffee at the kitchen table. Lost in thoughts of where the library door was. Snook was startled back to reality by a ringing noise in the living room. Entering the room, Mr Actoo was waking up reaching over to turn off his alarm clock. "Morning fairy Snook, it's going to be a good day."
Snook. "It is? Yes, it is, it's going to be a great day."
Mr Actoo. "Well let's not waste time. First things first, would there be any chance of a bowl of coffee?"
Snook. "Yes sure, Waters still how, just finished making one for myself."
Sitting at the kitchen table and Mr Actoo sitting on it. Snook began asking questions about the library. "Why had she never seen it?" "What books are in it?" "How many books are there?"
Mr Actoo. "Oh there's a book for every fairy there ever was. Books for spells, alchemy, wizards oh the list goes on. If it was written, the book is there. Everything magic."
Snook. "I can hardly wait to see it."
Mr Actoo. "Come into the living room and we can go have a look."
Entering the living room, Mr Actoo said. "Okay the first thing we need to do is find the big blue book."
Snook. "The Big blue book?"
Mr Actoo. "Can't open the door without the big blue book."
Looking at the books on the book shelf which spanned across the room. Snook went to each blue book she could see removed it from the shelf and asked Mr Actoo was this the book. Each time Mr Actoo replied no, we are looking for the big blue book.
Snook. "Mr Actoo, that's all the blue books I can see. Could it be somewhere else?"
Mr Actoo. "No definitely here somewhere. It's always been here."
Snook went across the books again. This time making a stack of books on the floor instead of placing the books on the shelf. "Well that's all the blue books there is Mr Actoo."
Snook. "How big is this book?"
Mr Actoo. "Oh it's about two inch tall."
Snook. "The big blue book is two inch's tall?"
Mr Actoo. "Maybe a little smaller but not by much."
Thud Thud Thud.
Snook. "That's probably Jack at the door. I'll go let him in." Opening the door, it wasn't Jack but Jamie. "Come in Jamie, come in. I'm just about to make a fresh coffee if you care for some."
Jamie. "Coffee would go down a treat." "Mind if I leave the door ajar? The little feller went over to say hello to his bigger buddies at the entrance."
Snook. "We can leave it open yes."
Walking in Jamie noticed all the books stacked on the floor. "Doing a bit of spring cleaning?" Then he noticed Mr Actoo. "Snook, you know you have a rabbit there reading books?"
Snook. "Oh, Meet Mr Actoo, he is the record keeper for the meadow. We're looking for a big blue book." "Fresh coffee Mr Actoo?"
Mr Actoo. "Maybe a break and coming back with fresh eyes might help."
Jack arrived at Snook's house only to find the door open. Thoughts they had arrived early for the eviction flooded through his mind. Although he had never found the door locked, which he just realised, he had also never found the door left ajar. Peering into the house Jack said "Helllooo." "Anyone here?"
Snook. "In the kitchen Jack. Come in and have a coffee."
As jack walked to the kitchen he noticed the pie of books on the floor. "Packing up? I see the book shelf is half empty."
Snook. "No, we are just looking for the big blue book."
Mr Actoo. "No one will be leaving today, that's for sure Mr Jack, I mean just Jack." "Sorry, old habit."
All eyes turned to Mr Actoo. Jamie was the first to speak. "Oh well that's a relief, we have a bit more time then."
Jack. "Someone want to fill me in on whats going on?"
Snook. "You know as much as me."
Mr Actoo. "We just have to let the day be the day, What we can do is find the big blue book. We need that to get to the library."
Snook. "We will go look again after coffee."
Jack. "Breakfast cookie?"
Snook. "Go ahead, help yourself."
Jamie. "Oh me too." As Jamie was about to dunk his cookie. Chichi barked up at him. "Woof wuf." Jamie leaned over and picked Chichi up broke a cookie in half and shared with Chichi.
Mr Actoo. "Okay lets go find this book."
Returning to the living room. Snook suggested "Everyone scan the book shelf for a big blue book." Sure there was no blue books left on the shelves.
Jack. "Looks to me like you have all the blue books. Are you sure it's not one of these?"
Snook. "Oh yea, the big blue book is about two inch's tall."
Jamie. "Must have been wrote by an Irish man. Only an Irish man would call a two inch book the big book."
Chichi. "Woof wuf wuf."
Jamie. "Leave Mr Actoo be Chichi. He's on our side."
Chichi. "Woof wuf wuf." "Wuf."
Jack. "I don't think he's barking at Mr Actoo. Have a look there by the leg of the shelves. Is that the book?"
Jamie. Jamie leaned down and reached behind the leg of the shelves and pulled out a black book just under two inch's tall. On the cover in gold guild was The Big Blue Book. "By golly jeepers would ye look at that. The little feller found the book. It ain't blue and it ain't big, but the title says, The Big Blue book."
Snook. "So I've being looking for a blue book that's not even blue."
Mr Actoo. "Open the book to the page with the key on it. Then we can open the door."
