Manchester City cleared the semi final of the Carabao Cup, as they took a 1-0 victory over Burton Albion with Sergio Aguero scoring the only goal.
Burton showing a much better performance than their nightmare of a 9-0 loss to City in the first leg. The final aggregate being Man City 10 Burton 0.
Thanks game gets off to a slow start, with City passing the ball around calmly. Mahrez sets Aguero up for the first chance of the game, but he fails to properly control the ball and sends a weak shot towards goal.
By the 12th minute, Mahrez has a good effort on goal with a fierce shot from a tight angle, but the ball goes inches wide of the post after beating the keeper.
Burton get a good chance with a free kick a minute later, after Delph took down Boyce in a dangerous area. Quinn plays the free kick in and Boyce flicks it towards the bottom left, but the keeper is on hand to control the situation.
In the 18th minute, Mahrez plays a wonderful ball towards the top left corner but is unlucky for the ball to go wide.
City have dominated the ball possession so far and they are started to create some good chances.
They get the first goal of the game in the 26th minute. Aguero who had been off to a slow start converted a pass from Mahrez with a clean finish into the bottom left. The keeper had no chance.
City still claim total control of the game, dominating most of the ball possession still. Nothing much really happening in the rest of the first half, with both sides seeming to just be running down the clock for now.
Burton start the second half with a higher tempo, Templeton getting an effort on goal go just over the bar in just 21 seconds of second half play.
City had a fine opportunity to double their lead in the 61st minute. Foden cuts a pass back to Aguero but he makes a dreadful miss from 12 yards. Replays show that Foden was offside during the buildup though.
Burton get very close to grabbing a consolation goal in the 70th minute, but Garcia was on the goal line to clear Miller's low shot into the empty goal.
Burton put up a good effort but City run down the clock, denying their opponents any goal.
City take a 1-0 victory with a 10-0 final aggregate, moving on to the final of the Carabao Cup.
