Summon.social is new decentralized open source community software.
Summon your own social media network by creating an “instance”.
Choose to connect your instance to other instances, or don’t.

We will make it very easy to understand.

What do we promise?

No ads.
No central nodes or servers.
No contracts.
No data collection.
No merchandise.
No monthly or yearly fees.
No paid employees.
No secrets.
No surveillance.

How are we doing this?

We are coding a tool to reclaim your freedom online and we are donating it to you.

Who are we?

We are open source activists. Betrayed, silenced and smeared for far too long.

So when?

Stay tuned. We aren’t wasting our time on fancy words until we are done.
We will deliver Summon.social to you as soon as possible.

sounds a bit like Dissenter, or a Mastodon layer? I'm intrigued.

That's actually true, and the plan is also to make it compatible with Mastodon. But things which are missing on such platforms, like "event pages" etc specificly made for activists will be added.

well, good luck. It's good to see others try to buck the trend (a trend that needs to be bucked and FUCKED) but I wonder if there's gonna be an over-saturation of new platforms causing dilution of prospective userbase?

It will be a competition for the alternative but hey, most of us know what we want.

Have you been following the preparation of panquake to launch? Now that's a potential platform I have little eagerness for.
