The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is an excellent nonprofit organization defending civil liberties in the digital world. They are often represented in tech media to comment on internet privacy issues.
I've been using their browser extension Privacy Badger on all my supported browsers for a long time. The Privacy Badger help protect against companies tracking my every move online.
First of all, I recommend everyone install Privacy Badger. When you've done that, see how the other EFF tool Panopticlick assess you online browser privacy setting.
