The solar cell uses a chemical reaction to capture solar energy, but not all solar cells can use it to generate electricity since it has to be stored in batteries to sustain electric usage. For example, a solid battery would give you enough power for a month, though it would take up some room in the refrigerator.
When the carbon dioxide is released during the chemical reaction, it is captured by a carbon dioxide gas and incorporated into a water bath surrounding the device. The water bath is cooled and heated to around 1,100 F, after which the solution will be condensed to make an aerosol based solar cell.
It is a simple process to perform but there are some complications to how it plays out.
The final phase of the solar cell production process involves the chemical reaction, with the carbon dioxide released as the catalyst and water bath heated to above 400 F. Since CO2 isn't easily re-used so is not recycled, the gas needs to be filtered out.
It works quite well and the first prototype has already made it onto the market.
